Yokogawa spinning disk confocal on an inverted Nikon Ti fluorescence microscope.

Imaging modalities

  • DIC
  • Phase contrast
  • Live cell imaging – short term

Hardware Components

  • Nikon Ti motorized inverted microscope with Perfect Focus System
  • Yokagawa CSU-X1 spinning disk confocal with Spectral Applied Research Aurora Borealis modification
  • Spectral Applied Research LMM-5 laser merge module with solid state lasers: 445nm (75mW), 488nm (100mW), 515nm (100mW), 561nm (100mW) & 642nm (100mW) lasers.  Laser line selection is controlled by AOTF.
  • Hamamatsu ORCA-R2 cooled CCD camera (6.45 µm2 photodiode)

  • Prior Proscan III motorized stage and shutters
  • Lumencor SOLA fluorescence light source
  • Okolab Stage Top Incubator
  • MetaMorph image acquisition software
This instrument uses Class 3b lasers. All users must attend laser safety training.
