Image
Analysis
Three PC computer workstations are available for image analysis. Each computer is equipped with
NIS Elements image analysis software, Metamorph image analysis software, AutoDeBlur deconvolution software,
and AutoVisualize-3D rendering software. Data may be accessed through
the NIC server, CD, or DVD. These computers can also be used to
download data from the NIC server to CD or DVD.
Data
Storage
The NIC@HMS does not offer long-term data storage. Storage
of data on the NIC@HMS computer hard drives is not allowed; the
hard drives of each computer in the NIC@HMS are purged daily. We
have arranged the following short-term storage options to allow
users to transfer data out of the NIC@HMS:
Data may temporarily be stored on the NIC server. Files are automatically
and permanently purged from the NIC server after a period
of two weeks. Contact Lara
Petrak to set up an NIC server account.
Each computer in the NIC@HMS is equipped with a CD-RW drive. We
also have several external DVD-RW available. We strongly encourage
users to burn their data onto CD or DVD at the end of each acquisition
session.
Incubators
Two Binder 37C, 5% CO2 tissue culture
incubators are available for short-term storage of your specimens
while you are acquiring images in the NIC@HMS.
