Fluorescence Basics
This is a one day workshop (usually 10am-3:30pm with a break for lunch) that is both lecture and hands-on laboratory exercises. We cover both theoretical and practical information that will help you get the best possible fluorescence images!
Topics covered include:
- Fluorescence and fluorophores
- Filter sets & other methods of wavelength selection
- Choosing the best fluorophore and filter set combination
- Alignment of the fluorescence light path (including the arc lamp)
- Resolution
- Choosing the best objective lens for your experiment
- Mounting your specimen for fluorescence microscopy
