Policy
Our full access policy is provided as a pdf file below. In summary, members of the Department of Cell Biology, the Department of Systems Biology and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmocology (BCMP) at Harvard Medical School have full access to the equipment and expertise provided by the NIC@HMS. There is a one time $200 training fee for all users. There is no hourly rate for use by Cell Biology, Systems Biology and BCMP. For other members of the HMS Quad (see below to see if you qualify), there is a $50 per hour use charge. Members of the HMS affiliates have limited access to some of the instruments in the NIC@HMS for a $100-$200 hourly rate. See below or email Jennifer Waters for details. In addition to fees, all users who publish data acquired or analysed with our equipment or assistance must acknowledge the Nikon Imaging Center at Harvard Medical School (see Acknowledgement Policy below).

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT POLICY
Equipment in the NIC@HMS is generously donated by our corporate partners and contributors. Therefore, any papers incorporating data acquired or analyzed in the NIC@HMS must acknowledge the use of the NIC@HMS. Please include a statement in the acknowledgements section, such as “Microscopy data for this study were acquired and/ or analyzed in the Nikon Imaging Center at Harvard Medical School”.
We share any publications that use our equipment with the companies that support the NIC@HMS. This allows us to demonstrate to the companies that have supplied the equipment that the NIC@HMS is producing useful scientific results and helps us justify their continued support. When you publish a paper incorporating data acquired at the NIC, please send either a reprint of the paper or the complete citation of the paper to Jennifer Waters.
